What is taking shape here was built through years of devotion, daily care, and the quiet accumulation of lives that kept arriving. Not from a polished plan, but from the undeniable sense that something larger was asking to be born.
Built from years of real rescue work, Kitties & Cacao is the early expression of a deeper vision. One grounded in biological coherence, compassionate care, and the restoration of relationship between animals, humans, and the living world.
A Living Sanctuary Already in Motion
Kitties & Cacao™ is not a future idea.
It is already happening.
Right now, roughly 45 cats live inside the sanctuary spaces of our farmhouse, while another 25 remain part of the outdoor colony we feed, shelter, and tend each day. What began as helping a few cats in need became something much larger. A living system. A daily act of devotion. A home gradually reshaped around safety, nourishment, and care.
Every day here is built around real rescue work.
Fresh food and water for the indoor cats and the outdoor colony.
Two feedings per day.
Litter boxes cleaned twice daily.
A mudroom shelter for the ferals, warmed by heat lamps in the winter.
An indoor catio. A sanctuary side of the house filled with climbing spaces, quiet corners, and a great bay window where cats watch the wildlife move across the land.
It is not pristine.
It is not staged.
It is alive.
There is fur in the corners. Movement at the door. Cats coming and going. Some still learning trust. Some needing extra care. Some who were meant to pass through and somehow stayed.
What is here has been built through repetition, vigilance, tenderness, and the willingness to keep saying yes when another life needed help.
And that is what makes this place real.

This sanctuary is being built in honor of that intelligence.
Not only the intelligence of animals, but the intelligence of life when it is given the right conditions to repair, reconnect, and become coherent again.

Founded by Gabrielle Brick
For years, Gabrielle’s work has centered on helping women restore biological coherence in a fragmented wellness culture.
Long before Kitties & Cacao™ had a name, that same devotion was shaping the way she cared for animals, gathered people, and listened for the forms of healing that restore relationship with life.
Cacao has been part of that path for more than twenty years.
It first came to Gabrielle at the beginning of her own healing journey and became a steady companion. A heart opener. An alchemical friend. Over time, it also became part of her creative and professional life, from pioneering raw heirloom chocolate and cacao elixirs to hosting cacao gatherings long before they became widely known.
Cats were arriving then, too.
Through rescue.
Through adoption.
Through abandonment.
Through the quiet, persistent sense that care itself was becoming a way of life.
